HEAVENLI LOGO DESIGN

Hey, how was your weekend? The mix of salty air, ocean water, sunshine, sand, food and friends made me adore ours and wish it could have gone on for an entire week. When we returned, we picked up the pup from daycare (yes, I know), and she had a little report card that stated she fared amazingly and even made some doggie friends of her own. I chuckled at this, but it is pathetic that I want to take her to daycare once a month for the pure purpose of socializtion? I figure since we have no kids (except for her, ha!), this should be 90% acceptable, 10% crazy-dog syndrome. Ah, whatever. I admit that I'm a tad over the top when it comes to pets.

Craziness aside, this is a little something I've been working on quietly for the past few weeks. We're nearly finished, and despite the fact that I'm usually not all about sparkles, I really love how this logo turned out.

Introducing Heavenli, a natural bath & body collection that is in the works:
I don't think I've ever drawn so many crowns in one sitting than this part of my life. Who would've thought I would have loved it so much? I'll have to show you our top choices sometime, huh?

Here's an mock example of how the logo could look in packaging. Excited to see the actual products once they hit true production.
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND

We're off the the beach for the weekend, and there are just of couple of things I wish I could tote along with me in my bag.

I think Xena could really care less though, seeing as she'll happily be spending her time at her favorite doggie camp for a few days.

Have a great weekend!

27

Clay and I went on a run together yesterday in the warm heat, and he asked me what my top highlights of being 26 were. I was puffing up the hill and running out of breath as I told him things I loved during the year, but I came to realize just how very lucky I am to reach each new age.

The way he sees it, you can do one of two things: feel crestfallen about the years past and dwell on things missed or unaccomplished, or be exuberant about the things you were able to experience and learn, looking forward to the years ahead.

I'll choose the latter. :)
When my parents were in town, my mom found this ridiculously easy cheesecake recipe to make that has about only 4 ingredients and only requires the fridge to solidify.

You should try it! Clay and I've been practically fighting to the death for every last piece. I figure since it's my birthday, I'll win the last morsel. ;)

Have a happy day!

HELLO!

Sorry for missing all this time! I couldn't believe it was an entire week ago since my last post.

I've been spending time with a good friend (we've shared the same awkwardness since third grade) from back home, who is about to get married on October 13. And no, it doesn't fall on a Friday...I checked. ;)

After getting things together at my childhood hometown, I drove back to my grown-up city with my parents in tow, where we proceeded to do more wedding things, cook ridiculous amounts of food, and spend too much time at stores, whether it was the fun kind (real shopping) or the "eh" kind (groceries).

Anyway, I decided to try and make my friend's bridal shower invitations extra special, so I took my best stab at calligraphy that my hand/attention span would allow. I'm pretty insanely happy with the result, considering my first hundred attempts were futile. I'm somewhat determined to become much more adept at the whole calligraphy thing someday.
What have you guys been up to?

ROMAN NIGHT

We may have been hot and tired, but this night in Rome was definitely worth seeing.

Hope you enjoyed the weekend!

COMPLETION PROCESS

Two things that are in the process of completion: flowers in the kitchen (sigh), and a painting in the office (grin).

A FEW FROM SPERLONGA

Here are a few July shots from the ever-gorgeous Italian beach of Sperlonga
Truth be told, I usually itch for the sun on my back and the need for sunglasses, but today it was the opposite when I got rained on during a morning jog. Nope, I didn't mind a bit. We need more of the overcast stuff sometimes. It gives me a reason to pile on puffy sweaters and cozy socks. :)
Time to use the umbrellas for another purpose.
When it gets cold, I bet I'll want to go running back to days like these.

Will I ever make up my mind?

DREAMING AWAY

Geez. It's been forever! So sorry, but I caught something that put me in bed for almost an entire week. Not fun, I tell you! It's so awesome to be up and running again. :)

Here's what happened last weekend in a story of photos.
I lost the husband and pup to sleep deprivation for only about an hour one day. Then they lost me dreaming for a week.

I brought my camera along on the trip for the purpose of actually capturing Austin, but all I got were shots of a banana tree. Go figure. BUT, we did make our way over to Barton Springs, which was paradise. I'll have to take photos of it one day.
We stayed with family friends again, and off I went cooing over the animals and the sunlight like I always do.
Now that my nose isn't stuffy, I want to just breathe in this view.
Then sit down, and enjoy the serenity.
Hope y'all had a great week!
